RASA Accredited Reiki Master Teachers

Our RASA accredited Reiki Master Teachers are dedicated to teaching and practising Reiki at the highest level. To achieve Master Teacher status, our Reiki Master Teachers must have practised as a Master Practitioner for at least 5 years. All our Master Teachers maintain an active Reiki practice and are committed to empowering themselves and others through Reiki.

Each Master Teacher has committed to abide by our Code of Ethics and minimum teaching standards. These high standards allow our Master Teachers to provide quality Reiki training that is consistent and accredited. Our high standards have also helped our teachers become qualified to offer complementary training courses.

Karen Lange

Karen began her career as a schoolteacher in Biological Sciences but soon felt the pull of her true calling. In 1999, she made the life-changing decision to leave teaching and step into her role as an empowerment teacher and spiritual counsellor. With a deep desire to help others heal and grow spiritually, Karen became a Reiki Grand Master and Master Teacher, dedicating her life to this path ever since.

In addition to her Reiki expertise, Karen is a qualified Motivational Speaker. She is currently the Chairperson of RASA (Reiki Association of South Africa) and the Karuna Reiki Practitioner Representative for South Africa. She is recognized as a teacher by the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan. She is also a gifted Psychic, bringing intuitive insight into her work with clients and students.

Karen’s commitment to excellence in Reiki and spiritual education has taken her across the globe, completing studies in Washington, Kyoto, and New York to ensure her courses align with international best practices. A pivotal moment in her journey came when she met Mikao Usui’s grandson in Tokyo, a connection that deepened her bond with the rich traditions of Reiki.

As an expert in her field, Karen has been a sought-after speaker, appearing on television and radio, and her writings have been featured in numerous publications. She also played an instrumental role in the development of a National Certificate in collaboration with the Health and Welfare Skills Education Training Authority (HWSETA) and the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations.

Karen offers a wide variety of transformative courses, ranging from Reiki and Crystal Healing to Inner Alchemy and Louise Hay empowerment workshops. As the principal teacher at the Soul Healing Academy, Karen inspires and nurtures students from all over the world, guiding them toward spiritual healing and growth. Additionally, she is a talented exhibiting artist, infusing her creativity and aertistic intuition into all of her teachings.

She offers 8 different Reiki courses, from Western styles like Usui Shiki Ryoho, to traditional Japanese styles such as Jikiden Reiki. Beyond Reiki, Karen provides a rich array of complementary modalities, including Crystal Healing, Meridian Massage, and Psychic Development Training, creating a holistic, well-rounded learning experience for all.

Karen’s mission is simple yet powerful: to guide others on their journey toward self-empowerment, healing, and personal growth. She feels deeply honored to share her wealth of knowledge and experience, helping both students and clients unlock their inner power.

Otishia Nair

Otishia is a Reiki Master Teacher and Crystal Healing Teacher at Soul Healing Academy, with over a decade of experience in energy work and healing. Having completed her Reiki training 10 years ago under the guidance of Karen, Otishia has honed her skills and deepened her connection to the practice. With a passion for people and a background of over 25 years of training people in the Skin, Beauty, Health and Wellness industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her work.

Her journey into energy work is deeply rooted in her ancestral lineage, where healing practices have been passed down through generations. This rich heritage, combined with her professional experience, enables Otishia to offer a holistic approach to wellness, helping clients achieve balance, peace, and rejuvenation.

As a dedicated member of the Reiki Association of South Africa, Otishia is committed to empowering others through teaching, guiding, and sharing the transformative power of Reiki.

Anna Terblanche

Anna has always had a natural sensitivity to energy, sensing its presence and power even as a child. As an empath, she felt a deep desire to help others and always knew that energy could be used for healing. This sense of service led her to pursue a career as a high school teacher, where she earned an Honours degree in Educational Psychology, with the goal of supporting and guiding teenagers through their challenges.

Despite her success in teaching, the call to be of deeper service never left Anna. After a life-changing journey, she answered the calling to heal by becoming a Reiki practitioner. Through Reiki, she has helped countless people heal mentally, emotionally, and physically, and she finds immense joy in guiding them through their personal healing processes.

Anna’s passion for healing led her to become a Master Reiki Practitioner and Teacher. She has studied many types of Reiki, including Usui Shiki Ryoho, Karuna, Jikiden, Gendai, Lightarian, and Seichem, and is also a certified Crystal Healer. Now, as a Reiki teacher, Anna is expanding her circle of healing by sharing her knowledge and skills with others. Teaching Reiki allows her to amplify the power of healing, and it fills her heart with happiness to see her students go on to heal and serve others.

Healing and teaching are Anna’s soul’s purpose, and she feels deeply honored to be able to support others on their own healing journeys.

Hannelie van Staden

Hannelie was always attuned to the rhythms of nature. As a child, her deep sensitivity to energy and emotion meant that she often sensed what others were feeling and intuitively foresaw events before they unfolded Her healing journey began in 2008 after the passing of a close friend, which awakened a profound commitment to understanding how the body heals itself. In 2012, a life-changing, out-of-body experience transformed her perception of energy and consciousness, inspiring a lifelong quest to define what it truly means to be a human being.

Introduced to Reiki in 2015 and completing her Master level in 2017, Hannelie discovered a gentle yet powerful system of healing that bridges science and spirit. She describes Reiki as “a language of universal light” — one that allows energy to flow freely, restoring balance to body, mind, and soul.

Through Sacred Soul Sanctuary, she offers Reiki sessions, training, and many different treatments. Her mission is to help others reconnect with their inner light, listen to the body’s wisdom, and awaken the sacred harmony that lives within each of us.

Hannelie believes that through the loving guidance of Reiki, every human being can return to wholeness — where healing becomes a natural state of being.

Isabel Quinton

Isabel is deeply passionate about Reiki and healing, and this passion is not only a career but a way of life for her. In 2023, she opened her very own Reiki Healing Centre and Crystal Shop, where she combines her love for spiritual well-being with her dedication to helping others. Isabel has been practicing Reiki since 2020 and has since achieved her Master level certification.

At her centre, Isabel offers expert Reiki treatments as well as teaches Reiki courses in Usui Shiki Ryoho. This include Reiki I, Reiki II, and Reiki Advanced, which is designed to empower others with the skills and knowledge to harness their own healing energy.

Simonia Buys Marimuthoo

Simonia Buys Marimuthoo has over a decade of experience in energy healing, holistic wellness, and embodied facilitation. She was first certified in Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki in 2009 and has since expanded her lineage and depth of practice to include Karuna Reiki (R), supporting emotional, mental, and spiritual healing through Soul healing Academy.

In 2022, Simonia completed additional formal training in Jikiden Reiki, attaining both Shoden and Okuden levels, grounding her work in the traditional Japanese teachings and practices of Reiki as they were originally transmitted with Sensei Karen Lange. Her approach honours the integrity of Reiki lineages while integrating modern, trauma-aware and body-based methodologies.

Her work is informed by a strong understanding of the mind–body connection and supports clients navigating trauma, burnout, life transitions, and emotional wellbeing.

Simonia brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective shaped by her professional background in the technology and corporate sector, where she has worked since 2010 with global organisations including IBM, SAP, Oracle, and OneStream Software. This experience enables her to support individuals and groups operating in high-performance and high-pressure environments with practical, grounded, and integrative healing approaches.

Her facilitation is deeply rooted in lived experience, personal healing, and the wisdom gained through continuous practice and teaching. Simonia works with individuals and groups. One of her passions is Equine Reiki, where the presence of horses supports embodied awareness, emotional release, and authentic connection.

As a Reiki Master Teacher within the Reiki Association of South Africa, Simonia is committed to upholding professional standards, ethical practice, and the authentic transmission of Reiki, creating safe and compassionate spaces for healing, learning, and transformation.
