Elevating Reiki Together: Your Membership Makes a Difference

As a member-driven organization, RASA prioritizes the needs and development of its members. We actively work towards integrating Reiki within mainstream complementary healthcare settings, ensuring its recognition as a standalone therapy. By joining forces, we pave the way for a brighter future for Reiki, both for ourselves and the communities we serve.

Reiki I, II & Advanced

Usui Shiki Ryoho (the Usui System of Natural Healing) is the basis of all Reiki and is a good place to start your journey.

This course is run once a week for 12 weeks and is done in-person. A minimum 36 hours of teaching time plus 4 hours of supervised practical work is required. Recommended Additional Training: Unsupervised practical’s, reading and research.

From there, members can go on to pursue other Reiki styles recognised by RASA.  These include Usui Reiki Ryoho, Gendai Reiki, Karuna Reiki®, Crystal Healing; Jikiden Reiki; Seichim Reiki; Animal Healing; Childrens Reiki and more.

Reiki Master Practitioner– Shihan Kaku

Master Practitioner training is to span over a 4 week period and is to include 7 hours practical and 7 hours teaching.

You will then need to complete 25 case studies – Minimum 5 people x 5 treatments, which must include the full spectrum of all levels of Reiki healing and evidence of prior learning and understanding of natural/holistic healing.

Once case studies are complete, these will be handed in when conducting a compulsory 90 minute demonstrated practical exam by an external examiner.

Reiki Master Teacher – Shihan

Becoming a Reiki Master is a crucial step to teaching others. While a minimum of 2-3 years of practice is required, there’s more to it. To truly hone your skills and gain the necessary experience, you’ll need to complete an additional 50 case studies. Plus, to ensure your understanding and refine your teaching methods, you’ll retake the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki course as an assistant teacher, with any one of our qualified Master Teachers.

The Master teacher can franchise an existing course from a qualified RASA teacher or if the teacher prefers to write their own manuals then they will need to submit to RASA for perusal by 3 teachers. This will include Course content, syllabus outline, lesson preparation, copies of manuals and copy of Master/Practitioner certificate. The course content needs to be in line with local and international best practices, to ensure Reiki remains credible, vocational training.

All RASA Courses support the SAQA (The South Africa Qualifications Authority) - Qualification # 118846 (all minimum standards required by SAQA are met)
